The only thing that this park has going for it is the location. They are near Chicago. The water is horrible. (Iron filled,orange,and hard) Our fixtures turned orange. Incredibly noisy as it is right on the interstate and near a shooting range. The sites and roads are a veritable mudpit when it rains. The "lake" looks like a construction cut out. Very, Very overpriced for just a place to park.

Wonderful campground. Each site has a long drive way, with gravel sites. Good drainage when it rained. Well maintained. Beautiful surroundings. Friendly staff. We arrived after dark and the ranger brought us firewood and trash bags.(A good bit of wood for $3.70). Very steep roads leading to the park.

We stayed from May thru July. Excellent location across the street from white Gulf beaches. Pool and park was kept clean. Staff picked up our garbage bags every morning. (The owner had no plans to repair the hot tub though). The game room is run down. They did have a lot of long term campers in the back and it got a bit rowdy some nights.

Beautiful park with a large lake running through it. Trails range from concrete walks trough the woods to undeveloped trails out to eagle nesting areas. The staff was great and opened the visitor center just for us as the park was mostly empty. Sewer hookups not available but they do have a dump station. They have 55 sites with hookups, but they also have other tent sites and new cabins. The park is new.
